- If you are bleeding, use sterile gauze to apply pressure to the area. If the bleeding doesn’t stop in 15-20 minutes, you should visit us or an emergency room.
- Do not take any medication that could thin your blood, like aspirin.
- You can reduce swelling and inflammation by applying a cool washcloth or ice pack.
- If you have a knocked-out tooth, you should rinse it in clean, warm water and try to put it back in the socket until your appointment. If you can't do that, place the tooth between your teeth and gums or in a container of milk. If you see us within 30 minutes, we may be able to save the tooth.
- If you are taking antibiotics for an infection, complete the entire course, even if you feel better. If you still have symptoms after you have finished your antibiotics, contact our office right away.
